I loved the close community setting of the Penumbra Theater, feeling a part of the intense discussions that made up "Pipeline"". I most closely related to the primary cast as teacher and mother of minority children. I related to the phone message she left, a brief one, after sharing her full concerns. Often our messages land on deaf ears and we realize that venting is what we need without an audience, before we ""get a grip. Having raised 4 sons of color, I related to her fear as her son went out in the community and we can't protect them from unjust charges and unfair practices and inaccurate perceptions. Though I have taught in public schools for nearly 4 decades, I never experienced such profanity within the school setting portrayed by the white teacher. I however have been in intense situations with staff and parents at times, so the emotion of the story seemed very genuine. I often was glad I had a coworker to problem solve with. Having worked with many students with emotional and behavioral disorders, some not well understood by staff and family, this storyline appeared very plausible. I was glad to have attended this play and welcome comments from others,
